After a couple of blasts across the lagoon, Becky insisted we do waterstart
practise - again. I was on a xxx139 with a 6.6. I was recovering the rig OK
but struggling to get in the right position to get on until Becky suggested
I stop kicking with my back leg. That helped and I managed several
waterstarts, even a couple out in the middle where it was a bit choppier.
So I was quite chuffed.
Sarah was on a XXX119 with a 6.2 and was struggling a bit. She changed down
to a 5.8 and found out that Ian had managed to get an urchin spine through
his little finger. We assumed he had been stroking the sea urchins but
found out later he had just fallen on one. Jane was not too sympathetic
...
Sarah was going much better with her new kit, but still practising her
snorkelling technique when trying to fly the rig. Becky suggested using 2
fingers to fly the rig in chest deep water and then moving out deeper. Jane
said 'Oh, isn't it easy!' which did not seem to cheer Sarah up much. I
think Sarah might improve if she persevered instead of keep blasting off
enjoying herself ;P
